My name is Caylen David, and I'm a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Cinema & Media Studies, with minors in Economics & Art History. Caylen David Entertainment (CDE) is my portfolio of the projects that I have been taking on to prepare myself for a career in the entertainment industry. 

 

CDE started with my first production, "Early Evenings with Caylen David," a radio talk show that I started through WQHS Radio, UPenn's student-run radio station. I wanted a way to unite my peers in the Penn community despite being displaced around the globe when the COVID-19 pandemic caused universities to shut down nationwide. As the shutdowns persisted, I continue to produce and create content that would help bring communities together in otherwise dark times.

 

After I started to establish my footing through podcast production and critic writing, I began to get more involved in the documentary space. My first credited role was leading the social media team for DREAMING OF JERUSALEM, a Discovery+ documentary about the Ethiopian Jewish community. I am currently serving as the Assistant Editor on THE HEART OF PUERTO RICO, a virtual reality docuseries about artists in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.

In Summer 2022, I plan to revive my Blog posts during the time I'll be in Los Angeles interning at United Talent Agency.
